Zelensky Vows Renewed Attacks Deep Inside Russia
(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has issued a warning about fresh attacks deep within Russian territory, just days after the United States promised to restart military assistance to Kiev.
The statement came after Zelensky held discussions on Sunday with Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Aleksandr Syrsky, and Chief of the General Staff Andrey Gnatov.
“Our units will continue to destroy the occupiers and do everything possible to bring the war onto Russian territory. We are preparing our new long-range strikes,” Zelensky declared on X.
He further mentioned that Ukraine is getting ready to host US presidential envoy Keith Kellogg and intends to “work with partners on arms deliveries and scaling up joint production of essential defense assets.”
Recently, Ukraine conducted operations far from the immediate battle zone, targeting military airbases that house strategic bombers in multiple Russian regions last month.
Additionally, Ukrainian drones and missiles have repeatedly hit residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.
Moscow attributes the passenger train derailment on March 31, which resulted in seven fatalities, to Ukrainian forces.
