Gaza Genocide: Israeli Atrocities Kill Over 58,000 Palestinians
(MENAFN) The Palestinian Health Ministry reported on Sunday that the death toll in Israel’s devastating campaign against the Gaza Strip has surpassed 58,000 since October 2023.
According to the ministry’s update, hospitals received 139 bodies in the past 24 hours, alongside 425 new injuries, pushing the total number of wounded Palestinians to 138,520 amid the ongoing Israeli offensive.
“Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.
The statement further highlighted that in the last day alone, 28 Palestinians lost their lives and over 180 were injured while attempting to access humanitarian aid. This raises the total fatalities during aid efforts to 833, with more than 5,432 wounded since May 27.
Hostilities reignited on March 18 after the Israeli military resumed strikes on Gaza, killing 7,450 and injuring 26,479 since breaking a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement established in January.
In a significant development last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel is also confronting a genocide lawsuit at the International Court of Justice tied to its military operations in the Gaza Strip.
