US special envoy lands in Kyiv after
Andriy Yermak, head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, confirmed Keith Kellogg’s arrival via a Telegram post that included a video showing Yermak welcoming the US envoy.
Yermak emphasized the wide range of issues for discussion, mentioning defense, enhancing security, weapons supply, sanctions, protection of civilians, and deepening cooperation between Ukraine and the United States.
He added, “Russia does not want to cease fire. Peace through strength is the principle of US President Donald Trump and we support this approach.”
Kellogg’s visit follows Trump’s announcement the previous day about deploying an unspecified number of Patriot missile systems to Ukraine. Trump also expressed frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Putin really surprised a lot of people,” Trump said at Joint Base Andrews. “He talks nice and then he bombs everybody in the evening, but there's a little bit of a problem there: I don't like it.”
