Zelenskyy Picks Svyrydenko to Lead Ukraine’s Government

(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday put forward First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko to lead a major restructuring of Ukraine’s government, signaling the start of an ambitious reform drive.

In a post on X following a meeting with Svyrydenko in Kyiv, Zelenskyy said the talks centered on “concrete measures” aimed at boosting the country’s economic strength and accelerating domestic weapons manufacturing.

“In pursuit of this goal, we are initiating a transformation of the executive branch in Ukraine. I have proposed that Yuliia Svyrydenko lead the Government of Ukraine and significantly renew its work,” Zelenskyy stated.

He also indicated that a comprehensive strategy from the revamped government would be unveiled shortly.

“I am looking forward to the presentation of the new government’s action plan in the near future,” the president added.

Svyrydenko, who has served as First Deputy Prime Minister since November 2021, currently holds a dual role as Ukraine’s economy minister.
