Trump confirms deployment of Patriots to Ukraine
Speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews near Washington on Sunday evening, Trump stated, “We will send them Patriots, which they desperately need, because Putin really surprised a lot of people. He speaks politely but bombs everyone at night. I don’t like it.”
His comments follow reports from US media suggesting that Trump is considering approving a new military aid package for Ukraine, which may include both defensive and offensive missile systems.
Recently, Trump has intensified his criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin, holding him responsible for the lack of progress in US-brokered peace talks between Moscow and Kiev.
