Lamine Yamal Receives Inquiry Over Birthday Celebration
The event took place on Sunday at a leased venue in Olivella, a small municipality situated roughly 50 kilometers northwest of Barcelona.
The party reportedly included a mix of guests such as social media personalities, content creators, and a number of Yamal’s teammates from Barcelona.
Claims suggest that Lamine Yamal employed performers with dwarfism for the occasion, an act which the Association of People with Achondroplasia and other Skeletal Dysplasias in Spain (ADEE) denounced as "unacceptable in the 21st century."
The organization raised concerns about the use of people with disabilities for entertainment purposes, viewing it as discriminatory and outdated.
In a statement to a news agency, the Directorate General for People with Disabilities—an agency operating under the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs, and the 2030 Agenda—confirmed: "ADEE has filed a legal complaint."
The spokesperson added, "Therefore, this Directorate General has asked the Prosecutor's Office to investigate to determine whether the law and, therefore, the rights of people with disabilities have been violated."
