Zelensky Discusses Ukraine’s Enhanced Defense with Trump
(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky engaged in a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday, focusing on strategic measures to improve Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression and to bolster the nation’s stance.
In a statement posted on X, Zelensky emphasized the commitment to achieving peace, saying, "We are ready to work as productively as possible to achieve peace."
During the call, Trump provided insights into his recent discussions with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
On the same day, Zelensky also spoke with Rutte, who detailed the collaborative efforts between the United States and European allies to maintain and enhance support for Ukraine.
Zelensky highlighted the joint initiative by the U.S., Germany, and Norway to deliver additional Patriot missile defense systems to Ukraine.
Earlier, Trump announced a NATO agreement on weapons assistance for Ukraine while meeting Rutte in Washington, D.C.
