PHIVOLCS noted the earthquake resulted from tectonic movement and warned that aftershocks are likely to follow, though the initial quake is not expected to inflict major damage.
The shaking was also felt across adjacent provinces including Cagayan, Ilocos Sur, Isabela, and Abra.
