Trump Urges Moving On from Epstein Controversy
(MENAFN) U.S. President Donald Trump has urged his followers to leave behind the controversy surrounding Jeffrey Epstein, referring to the matter as a "hoax."
This statement follows a conclusion by the Justice Department that Epstein, the disgraced financier, died by suicide in 2019 and did not possess any "client list."
This conclusion has created a significant divide among Trump’s supporters, marking one of the sharpest rifts within his base since he took office in January.
Many of his backers are still demanding the full disclosure of documents linked to Epstein, particularly the much-discussed "client list." Attorney General Pam Bondi previously stated in February that the list was "sitting on my desk right now."
Trump asserted that his followers are now falling into a trap orchestrated by the Democratic Party.
He emphasized the need to let go of the matter, stating that continuing to engage with it only furthers the opposition's agenda.
Trump expressed his frustration on social media, stating, "Their new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax, and my PAST supporters have bought into this 'bull****,' hook, line, and sinker. They haven't learned their lesson, and probably never will, even after being conned by the Lunatic Left for 8 long years."
He further distanced himself from critics within his base, saying, "Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work, don't even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don't want their support anymore!"
In contrast to Trump’s stance, House Speaker Mike Johnson broke ranks on Tuesday, advocating for the public release of government documents tied to Epstein.
