Azerbaijani leader praises high level relations with China

(MENAFN) Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has praised the strength of relations between Azerbaijan and China, describing them as rooted in a high level of mutual trust.

Speaking at a media forum in Khankendi, Aliyev highlighted key developments in bilateral cooperation, noting recent agreements that elevated the relationship to a strategic partnership in 2024 and then to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2025.

"This is a high level of mutual trust between two nations," Aliyev stated.

He also reaffirmed his country’s firm backing of China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. "Azerbaijan has always openly supported the one-China policy," he said.

Aliyev pointed to the ongoing high-level political engagement between the two countries, along with expanding cultural and social ties. He emphasized that visa exemption initiatives have helped to strengthen exchanges among students, businesspeople, and the general public, further deepening bilateral relations.
