Israeli Drone Attack Kills Lebanese Civilian
The aerial assault struck a motorcycle in the town of Deir Siryan, severely wounding the individual riding it.
The rider was later declared dead, as reported by a state-run news agency.
This renewed escalation unfolded just a few hours after a separate Israeli drone strike targeted a vehicle in the al-Housh region, situated east of Tyre, on Wednesday night.
That attack reportedly left at least seven individuals wounded.
Israel initiated a military campaign in Lebanon on October 8, 2023, which eventually intensified into a full-blown conflict by September 2024.
The violence led to the deaths of more than 4,000 individuals and left approximately 17,000 injured.
Though a ceasefire was brokered in November, Israeli forces have persistently carried out almost daily strikes in southern Lebanon, asserting that these operations are directed at Hezbollah-related targets.
As part of the truce agreement, Israel was required to completely withdraw its troops from southern Lebanon by January 26.
However, the deadline was postponed to February 18 after Tel Aviv declined to adhere to the initial terms. Israeli military personnel continue to occupy five border positions in the region.
