US, Canada collaborate on Golden Dome missile defense project—Trump
Speaking in the Oval Office while hosting Canadian Premier Mark Carney, Trump described the project as “the protective mechanism” and said, “You see how that works. It's unbelievable.”
He added, “We'll be working together on a Golden Dome for the two countries, and it's something that I think is going to be very important, especially when you look at the world, you look at what's happening. We want to have that protection. It's really amazing. The technology is unbelievable.”
The Golden Dome is a proposed U.S. multi-layer missile defense system. Trump previously stated in May that he had selected the “architecture” for the program, estimating that its development would cost approximately $175 billion over the next three years.
