Trump declines to advocate for two-state solution
"I'm talking about something very much different. We're talking about rebuilding Gaza," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One while returning from Egypt, responding to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s comments advocating a two-state solution and an independent Palestinian state.
"I’m not talking about single state or double state or two state. We’re talking about the rebuilding of Gaza," he added.
Earlier in the day, Trump and Sisi welcomed more than 20 global leaders to Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, for a summit focused on signing a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
“A lot of people like the one-state solution. Some people like the two-state solution. We’ll have to see. I haven’t commented on that," Trump said, noting that he would coordinate with other nations on future plans for Gaza.
