Iran Warns Gulf Nations over Territory Use, Regional Escalation Risks
According to reports, a senior commander from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force said: “If their territory is used against Iran, they must say goodbye to oil production in the Middle East,” as quoted by Iran’s semi-official media.
The statement comes amid rising regional tensions and reflects Tehran’s continued warnings to neighboring states about potential involvement in any escalation of the conflict.
Separately, US President Donald Trump announced an extension of the ceasefire with Iran, saying Washington will allow additional time for Tehran to submit what he called a “unified proposal,” following requests from Pakistani officials.
The broader situation has been marked by instability since the conflict intensified after joint strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran in late February, which were followed by Iranian retaliatory attacks targeting Israel and other regional locations hosting US forces.
Efforts to de-escalate have included diplomatic engagement mediated by Pakistan, which hosted initial peace talks earlier in April after helping broker a temporary ceasefire agreement.
